Good, good. How was yours?
No, we have a fixed address. Our office is in Dumbo. Many of our team members are in NYC and we do a couple of days a week together there, but we also have some staff fully remote. It’s a hybrid model that’s all about the best people and the best work.
No Fixed Address is our sister agency based out of Toronto, Montreal, and Chicago. They’re a full-service shop with offerings from media planning and buying, to digital platforms, to CRM, to health. We partner up where it makes sense for clients who want something extra. We’re family. And family shares a surname.
Did you even read our opening manifesto?
Ever heard Big Mama Thornton’s recording of “Hound Dog”? Great song. Would recommend.
We bring it up because, near the end, a musician is heard barking.
When asked about this seemingly inspired moment during an interview, the backup man reportedly said: “I was going to meow, but that was too hip for them.”
And therein lies the secret to clients surviving in today’s ever-crowded landscape.
To bark at the end of a song called “Hound Dog” is clever, but not necessarily genius or unpredictable. It’s just clever enough for people to think they are buying into something creative. It’s the safe side of risky.
But to meow is inspired.
Meowing has edge, a backstory. It stays with you after the music has left.
We as an industry are often too tempted by the bark––the safe one.
Mischief meows.
Olivia for girls and Liam for boys. In the U.S. as of 2022, at least. Mohammad's pretty popular in the U.K., if you were wondering. But we've always been fond of Butch. Strong name. Powerful. No one argues with Butch.
Your mom. Ha. Not really. Can you imagine if we were like that? The correct answer is actually the galaxy GLASS-z13 as observed by the James Webb Space Telescope. It's estimated to be 13.4 billion-years-old. The speed of light means that when we look at GLASS-z13 we're actually looking back in time to basically when the Big Bang happened. Also known as your mom's birthday.

*Eyes widen in disbelief*
It was you all along.
No, the serious and simple answer is great people who want to do something different and effective and to have fun doing it.
Probably Van Halen, “Eruption.” We said what we said.
