A lot of us believe that we don't have a mean bone in our body. We would never say something cruel to a friend. Never put something hurtful online. Yet, that same compassion doesn't extend to ourselves. 74% of adults agree that they are their own worst critic.
Self-bullying is still bullying. If it’s not okay to say to someone else, then it shouldn't be okay to say to yourself.
During anti-bullying month, we wanted to confront an often unchecked bully: the voice in our heads. We had real people write down all of the mean things they say to themselves on a daily basis. Little did they know, they’d have to say them to someone they loved. The outcome was chilling.
