The Hypocrisy

Those in the cannabusiness are contending with a casserole of regulations as states juggle the pros and cons of legalizing marijuana following America’s War on Drugs.

These antiquated laws have been a plague on the African-American community—directly contributing to systemic racism.

Yet, at the same time, states which keep weed illegal are home to a surprising number of legal activities, like texting and driving, using a flamethrower, even having sex with farm animals.

Underscore the hypocrisy. Show how cannabis laws are out of date and disproportionately cruel and punishing when compared to the rest of the legal code. Champion stories from the African-American community which highlight contradiction in action, such as Bryan Rone, who served 15 years in prison for breaking marijuana laws but watched states legalize while he was behind bars.
