The majority of cancer survivors who go through radiation therapy are left with a mark for life.
The emotional scars this can leave has been well documented. Around 70% of women who received breast cancer radiotherapy with tattoos had negative feelings about the involuntary body modification, according to a study conducted by The Breast Journal.
It also revealed 78% of patients would prefer a treatment which avoided tattoos and would travel an average of 45 miles in additional distance to a center that could provide markless treatment.
